According to My Zodiac Sign, My Fall Style is Experimental
Spoiler Alert: I Totally Agree
An article once described Aquarians as “walking abstract art pieces”. Which is great because I love art and terrible because as a very strong Aquarius, I hate being labeled. It also does not help that I am a four on the enneagram, but that is an article for another time.
Not going to lie though, like abstract art, my air sign has a tendency to blend in and stand out all at once. We cast spells on people, for better or for worse, and every now and then we can leave people feeling a bit confused. It is all part of our mystery and charm. And fashion is just one of our many mediums to do just that.
When it comes to fashion, a quick Google search will pull up various style articles that note Aquarians are “experimental” and “bold”, but will not go into any specific tips. While Taurus gets suggestions for flowy maxi dresses and earth tones, we get “it’s up to you”. One fashion article even compared us to the Blair Witch and literally left it at that; no explanation on what it had to do with our fashion sense!
Not exactly helpful when you are trying to write an article about Aquarian fall styles.
But if you know anything about zodiac signs (or you talk to my sweet friend, Darcy), you know when it comes to being an Aquarius, we are independent, we are unique, and damn do we love a good rebellion. Just take a look at the icons in our ranks! Harry Styles, Paris Hilton, THE Yoko Ono...the list of fashion eminences is strong.
If we are really comparing witches here, Aquarians are more like the Sanderson sisters of fashion, if anything. We don’t quite belong but like hell if we care.
We are contrarians and rebels at heart. Off-beat, individualist fashion is just kind of our thing. For us, fashion is more than just clothing—it’s an experiment in standing out and giving the system (whatever you deem that to be) the hypothetical bird.
Do not get us wrong; trends are fine, but we are constantly looking for ways to test the boundaries. Barbiecore in fall? Groundbreaking. Clashing prints? Yes. Please. God. Mixed vintage?! Forever and always.
The only say seasons really have in our lives is the length of our sleeves and the number of layers we might need to wear. So for all my lovely Aquarians out there, let this fall be your time to go wild. For me, that looks like taking my hot pink summer dress out for a few spins in the cool air. For you it might look like:
Choosing pastels or bright colors instead of traditional warm ones
Repurposing those summer aesthetics for something new and eye-catching
Letting a handmade piece be the center of an outfit
Making Hailey Beiber proud and wearing white socks with heels
Mixing and matching styles to your heart's content
The point is, in true Aquarian fashion, you do you. Experiment. Rebel. Rain down chaos. Cast some spells. And if it turns heads and rolls eyes in the process? All the better.
