8 {Romance} Movies to Cozy Up With This Weekend

Some days you just need a good ole’ movie to cozy up with on the couch. Loads of pillows, a modge podge of your favorite snacks, and a good story line? Yes, please!

Now, I know everyone has their preferred genre, but last time I checked, it was love month 💗 So from one movie lover to another, I’ve rounded up eight romance movies for you to check out this weekend. And don’t worry, they all feature a unique sense of style for you to enjoy, too.

1) The Notebook

The Notebook is arguably the story that turned me into the hopeless romantic I am today. This is a story of enamorment, longing, selflessness, a young love that sparks a decades long connection. It’s the movie I always recommend for anyone who needs a good cry (happy tears, I promise).

2) Pride & Prejudice

“May I have the next dance, Miss Elizabeth?”

“You may.”

A classic story brought to life by the endearing, fan-favorite actress, Kierra Knightly. The music, the cast, the cinematography — sigh. Five stars.

3) Little Women

There’s something about the romance of a period piece. Maybe it’s the slower lifestyle. Maybe it’s the soul stirring longing the characters experience as they desperately search for true love, fighting against the odds.

Little Women follows the life of Jo March and her three sisters as they grow into young women in Massachusetts in the 1860s. While this movie does showcase a few different love stories, I particularly love the journey the main character goes on to discover who she is in a time where the independence of women is basically unheard of.

A story within a story. Enjoy!

4) La La Land

While a good story line is key for a good romance movie, so is the performance and chemistry of the actors who bring it to life.

Luckily, this is exactly the kind of magic La La Land is known for. Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling? OKAY Lionsgate.

Mwah!

5) Legally Blonde

“I don’t need backups. I’m going to Harvard.”

For the weekend you need a little reset, encouragement, and reminder that you can do anything you set your mind to, Elle Woods is there for you.

Sorority leader turned one-of-a-kind lawyer; this movie follows her journey of becoming someone she is seriously proud of.

6) Breakfast at Tiffany’s

“There was once a very lovely, very frightened girl. She lived alone except for a nameless cat.”

Audrey Hepburn, ladies and gentlemen — one of the cinematic Hollywood stars who set the tone for many women who followed after her in the film industry.

The film adaptation of Breakfast at Tiffany’s is loved by romance and comedy lovers alike. If you’re looking for an old-time classic, this one is for you!

7) Which Brings Me to You

Released just last month, Which Brings Me To You, starring Lucy Hale and Nat Wolff, quickly climbed the charts in popularity.

The story follows two wedding attendees who had pretty much given up on successful relationships, until they bumped into each other and realized they might just be open to trying again…

8) Love Again

Set in New York City, this rom-com tells a really, really sweet story.

I won’t get into the details today, simply because I want you to have the “full experience,” but trust me when I say: your heart will be so full afterwards.

A+ cast, too!

That’s all for today, friends! I hope you enjoy these movies as much as I have over the years.

Each story provides a simply unmatched depiction of life, love and joy all wrapped up like a gift.

Wishing you a restful weekend and hope you had a happy Valentine’s Day!
